French painter, Edgar Degas, was a leader in the Impressionist movement. Unlike his contemporaries, Degas rejected painting outdoor sceneries and instead looked for ways to portray the human form. Ballerinas were Degas' ideal, modern models of study. His work highlighted movement, touch, and femininity while maintaining a modern edge for the time. His elegant yet emotional style inspired our design of flowing, romantic calligraphy paired with a classic layout.

Arguably one of the greatest French artists in history, Charles Le Brun’s work graces the halls of the Louvre Museum and the Palace of Versailles. His systematic approach to classicism allowed him to create elegant pieces that were mastered in refinement. This elevated refinement was the inspiration behind our design. The Le Brun suite includes a custom venue illustration of choice. This design focuses on strong classical details while being balanced by a soft French identity.

Claude Monet is most famously known for his water lily paintings drawn from his garden in Giverny, France. His fast brushstrokes captured fleeting light and movement. His soft color palette and natural subjects gave his work an ethereal and undeniably romantic quality. This romantic movement is seen in our invitation design from the strokes of the calligraphy to the soft blossom shapes. This spring blossom evokes a fleeting nature - the same as is felt in the way Monet captures the last moments of light hitting the water.

Dutch master Rembrandt famously captured minimal provincial scenes filled with contrast, strength, and a sense of seriousness. This use of contrasting shadows paired with simplicity inspired our design. We drew on his minimal yet strong style showing script balanced by simple aligned text and contrasted with a simple straight line. As Rembrandt so effortless did, we aimed to evoke a sense of simplicity in not only what is there but what is not.

Blank space, striking lines, and intentional balance are all features of modern artist Mark Rothko’s work. His paintings strategically drew the eye from one space to the next, allowing the jarring nature of bold, simple shapes to keep the viewing experience balanced and fluid. Inspired by this use of intentional negative space, we created this suite to highlight and lead the eye in a very natural yet minimalist way. Like Rothko, we found inspiration in the simplicity of classic shapes and spaces stripped of any overt style ties.

Jean-Antoine Watteau, a famous Rococo artist, was known for his feminine, evocative court style paintings. His signature style shows an airy sense of regal life with tangible texture, pastel tones, and romantic allegories. Our design was inspired by the romantic yet structured sense that was the Rococo style. This suite is available with either a crest or wreath monogram, each paired with romantic calligraphy perfectly mimicking French court life during the late 17th century.

Known for his witty and charming Rococo paintings, Jean-Honoré Fragonard was one of the most prolific painters during his time creating over 550 paintings during his career. Fragonard's paintings are distinguished by his exuberance, frivolity of the subject matter, and the soft carefree settings ranging from portraits to pastoral scenes. Fragonard's whimsical style inspired this design featuring a French crest drawn in the Rococo style.

American expatriate artist, John Singer Sargent, is considered to be the leading portrait painter of his generation. His paintings held an aura of elegance, class, and luxury, highlighting portraits of Edwardian Age socialites. Leaning into the Realism era, Sargent focused on painting what he saw rather than the romanticized truth of his Impressionist contemporaries. Sargent's remarkable skill and technique inspired our design featuring a classic border and delicate crest.

A central figure of the Impressionist movement, Pierre-Auguste Renoir used quick brushstrokes, saturated colors, and a sense of femininity to capture the light and movement of his landscapes and figure subjects. Characteristic of the Impressionist style, Renoir painted en plein air, or outdoors, where he was able to paint directly from nature rather than in a studio. Like Renoir, our full foliage wreath is inspired by the lush French gardens often seen in Renoir’s depictions of 20th century life in France.
