Layered velvet textures brought a refined softness to the more raw and organic elements explored throughout the design, including charcoal and stone. Layered print methods, tone-on-tone printing, negative space, and oversized typography were used to create balance and cohesion across the space as a whole.
Given the unique nature of this event and creative partnership, we moved away from traditional design roadmaps and instead developed foundational graphics that guided the visual direction from the very beginning. These graphics carried throughout the event branding and were used across social media, marketing materials, and ticket sales.
Inspired by the beauty of what exists in the dark, Liz Barella of Elizabeth Margaret Events created an ethereal world rooted in the quieter elements of nature. Grounded in textures like charcoal, stone, and moss, the design embraced an understated depth that felt organic, layered, and inviting.
To capture the essence of “reveal,” we incorporated a custom lenticular print for the menu card which was the opening piece of the guest experience. As the menu shifted from side to side, the imagery transformed from mushroom illustrations and typography into inky, Japanese tattoo-inspired florals. Framed with organic edges and black foil detailing, the reverse side featured silver foil printed on black velvet, unveiling the menu itself.

Every touchpoint of this gala was designed to feel unexpected whether through interaction, materiality, or scale. From the interactive lenticular menu cards to the revolving bar signage and mirrored acrylic woven throughout the space, each element captured the essence of reveal. Among our favorite details were the custom-designed waiter trays finished with fringe and the vinyl-wrapped bars, which added another layer of depth and dimension to the experience.
